Seminars
Practicing Hangaku-hankyo at seminars, elevates your knowledge as a specialist to another level.
(See https://www.keio.ac.jp/en/about/philosophy/ for further information on Hangaku-Hankyo.)
Central to learning in Mita are our seminars*. This is where Keio University’s tradition of Hangaku-hankyo is put to practice most intensively.
* The “seminar” here refers to a small-group seminar where a full-time faculty member is responsible for educating the select students. The students belonging to these seminars will receive more individual instructions in depth and spend more time in group activities. An overwhelming majority of students believe this course is one of the most important, and in addition, central to learning at Mita. You are required to take this course for 2 consecutive years.
Whilst acquiring specialist knowledge, a student will learn to form his/her own thoughts and learn how to be effective in discussions. The bond formed between the full-time faculty and the students in this Group Study Seminar will continue after graduation.
