  • 専門領域：言語学（言語類型論，認知言語学，意味論，語用論，形態統語論）
  • 研究紹介：言語類型論と認知言語学を中心に言語学の研究をしている。諸言語間で文法構造や言語使用にどのような類似点・相違点が見られるか，言語現象がどのように人間の認知メカニズムを反映しているかという問題に関心がある。英語と日本語のデータの他に，アフリカの2つの言語 ― エチオピアの Sidaama 語 (Highland East Cushitic) とウガンダの Kupsapiiny 語 (Southern Nilotic) ― を始めとした研究が進んでいない言語のフィールドワークで収集した談話データや実験データを使い，特に，体言化，事象統合，空間移動，因果関係・使役，状態変化，情報構造等に関する理論的問題に取り組んでいる。
